LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Garrison Schwartz hit a two-run home run and had three hits, and Nolan Kingham allowed just five hits over six innings as the Florida Fire Frogs defeated the Lakeland Flying Tigers 4-0 on Tuesday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Fire Frogs and a three-game winning streak for the Flying Tigers.
Kingham (2-1) picked up the win after he struck out two and walked one.
In the top of the third, Florida took the lead on a single by Greyson Jenista that scored Riley Unroe. The Fire Frogs then added a run in the fourth and two in the sixth. In the fourth, Unroe hit an RBI single, while Schwartz hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
Tom de Blok (0-2) went 3 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and five hits in the Florida State League game. He also struck out four and walked three.
Jon Rosoff tripled and singled twice for the Flying Tigers. Lakeland was held scoreless for the fourth time this season, while the Florida staff recorded its third shutout of the year.
